Chair Update

This weekend I finally made some time for a few small projects. The first was re-covering this chair from Rick's grandparents.

I really like the pattern of the fabric - it's embroidered in yellow, green, and pink - but as you can see, it's getting fairly worn. So I decided to cover the cushion with the same ticking stripe I used for the guest room roman shades. It was quite easy; I just unscrewed the cushion from the bottom of the chair and stapled on the new fabric. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Now to figure out where to put it. :)

More posts coming soon - my current project is sprucing up our front porch.

  1. I have a rocking chair from Kevin's grandpa's house- we love it... but the seat is worn and orange... and there is a loop/hook duck on the back. Kevin doesn't want to change it yet- it feels too sentimental still. Glad to hear it is a fairly easy process for once I get the green light! Yours turned out cute.

  2. Ooh, I would love to see it when you do re-cover it! My goal for this one was to frame a part of the fabric so we could still keep it, but it would not budge when I tried to get it off. So for now it's underneath, and I stapled the new fabric on top. But maybe yours could be framed if it comes off? :)
