November Snapshots

Since I haven't written in a while, I thought I'd post some pictures of this past month.

It has been fairly warm this week, although stormy. Earlier this month we had some pretty low temperatures that made for some beautiful mornings.

Early sunrise

Frost on the grass

Frost on the rooftops

When the sun came out, the rooftops started to steam

Just before Halloween Rick and I saw these vultures in the trees behind our house. There were so many, and they were huge! And ugly. With the roofs steaming and the bare trees, it made for some ominous pictures.

There are at least 10 vultures here

I made some pumpkin cookie sandwiches with ice cream. And our neighbor, Hannah, made us some pumpkin whoopie pies that were delicious!

Nora has enjoyed the fire. She was cracking me up as she wouldn't sit on the bed I made for her. She wanted to be as close to the heat as possible, so she sat here like this until she nodded off to sleep.

Elda, my sister-in-law, came out to lead worship at a conference the other weekend, so we met up with her for dinner. In my typical fashion I brought my camera and then forgot to take any pictures. But I did get a few of the sunset on the drive out.

The storms this week have blown off the remaining leaves for the most part. But here are a few pics I snapped earlier this month.

Finally, this past week Rick's parents were here visiting, and we had such a great time with them. I took them to one of my favorite antique shops downtown, and I found a fabric scrap bag that I can't wait to turn into something soon.

I have been putting off projects so that I could catch up on grading and finish my thesis. I still have final edits, but I am giving myself some space before jumping in again, so I plan to finally finish my porch update that I hope to post soon.
