Some Thanksgiving Snapshots

Thanksgiving this year was wonderful. My brother Joel and sister-in-law Elda came to Mt. Vernon from Chicago, and my sister-in-law Diane and her boyfriend (and our friend) Stephen came in from California. Even though we've technically been adults for a while now, it was our first Thanksgiving without parents present, so it was a fun and new experience.

First we had some breakfast and then went out to the town square for a walk.

There were still a few fall leaves hanging on

When we got back home, we started the preparations. Joel made delicious crackers with goat cheese, green onion, and jalapeƱo jelly.

Joel and Elda made the stuffing, which was so good!

And Joel, Elda, and Rick worked on the Turkey while Diane, Stephen, and I worked on desserts, green beans, and mashed potatoes.

It looked so gross...

A delicious meal: apple cider baked turkey, cranberry sauce,
stuffing, lemon parmesan green beans, rosemary mashed
potatoes, and sweet rolls

We had fun showing everyone around that weekend. We took them to tour MVNU's campus and in the chapel - I love the windows in there.

We also took them to the Easton mall in Columbus.

We feel so blessed to have had family come this Thanksgiving, and we're really looking forward to seeing everyone again at Christmas.
