Winter's Finally Here

Since it's finally getting colder here, I figured I'd post some pictures of our winter adventures. I have some projects I hope to post soon, too. Although after two failed attempts to re-invent a pair of dress flats, I don't have much to show for my time. Rick said he had the perfect solution: buying a new pair of shoes. :)   I hope to try one more thing, and then I may give in.

Anyhow, we've been enjoying the snow this weekend. Yesterday morning it was 12 degrees (accidentally wrote defrees, which is also accurate), -7 with wind chill. But today it was in the 20s and sunny for a while, which was nice.

Here are a few pictures of the snow several weeks ago. We had to shovel a little trail to the back bushes, so Nora would go to the bathroom (and by "we" I mean Rick).

Another beautiful sunrise. I never get tired of this view.

Matt and Hannah invited us to go sledding, so we drove a little north to Fredericktown to a beautiful hill Matt loves to go to. It was a bit steep for me, and I'm a total scaredy-cat, but I loved the drive out and the views from the top of the hill.

On our way to Fredericktown we saw this man in downtown
Mount Vernon. He was riding his horse down the street and
holding his dog on his lap - and that's no small dog. We
turned around so we could get a picture. :)

We tried to take Nora to the dog park one of the days that started off sunny. Once we got there, it started to snow, so we didn't stay long. We walked around a little to stay warm, and here is a video I got of the trees creaking in the wind - it was kind of eerie.

You can barely see Nora at the tree line.

This last video is from a pretty strong storm we had a few weeks ago. Although I know I will be happy when spring comes, I am enjoying the adventure of extreme weather. It keeps the days interesting. :)

That's all for now.
