Shoe Upcycle No. 2

A few weeks ago I posted a t-strap shoe upcycle, and since then I've been working on my second shoe project. While I'm not done with the second one, I wanted to share the photos for a before and after.
While the project itself wasn't too hard, it just took me some time to sew the fabric well. You can see the stitching a little on the inside, but it doesn't bother me, so I'll leave it for now. I thought about covering it up, but my feet will do that, too. :)
I looked through my fabric stash before choosing this blue jean-like fabric that I picked up at a yard sale. Part of the reason why I wanted to update the shoes was that I never wore the original royal blue color, so I wasn't sure I'd like them in just a lighter shade of the same color. But I actually love them now. They're light enough to contrast with my darker jeans and work pants, and the texture makes them feel a little more casual, which I also really like. Also, I added a little more fabric to cover the toe portion. I'm not a huge fan of - for lack of a better explanation - the toe cracks showing. :) And I think the added fabric looks much nicer.
I decided to bring the toe fabric back at an angle rather than straight down, and I kept the mint green on the sole from my botched spray painting; I was pleasantly surprised by the added color there.
I will post another picture when I finish the other shoe, hopefully this year at the rate I'm working. :)
