Blackberry Picking

Sorry for my absence around here recently. I have been experiencing a lack of inspiration for whatever reason - perhaps too much time inside. It has been rather hot and humid, so I've been hiding out indoors for a bit. I ventured outside yesterday since it was nice out, and I discovered that our blackberries are perfect for picking. We don't seem to have as many as last year, but they taste so much better!
While I was picking (and eating) the berries, I was taken back to summertime at my grandma's ranch, which burned in the San Diego fires several years ago. One of my favorite things to do there was to pick blackberries and watch the shooting stars in August. Freshly picked blackberries will always remind me of that. :)
In other random updates, our neighbor Betsy's garden is looking beautiful. She has all kinds of vegetables as well as what she called "volunteer" sunflowers. :) I love that; she didn't re-plant them from last year, but they decided to grow anyway.
And the herb garden is doing pretty well on our porch. As you can see, the mint (in the middle) has grown legs.
Rick and I took a walk on the trail again yesterday, and it was so pretty. I never get tired of this view.
And finally, most random of all, perhaps, I found this tin at Goodwill the other day. It's the same pattern as some I already have, but I think it's my favorite design. And for $2 it was way cheaper than Ebay. :)
Perhaps another reason I have no inspiration is because I worked on several projects recently that all flopped. I may post some pictures soon, but it's been another week or two of craft fails.... Anyhow, I am taking a break and doing some reading for a bit to renew my motivation. :)
