A Few Favorite Things...

It's feeling more and more like fall around here, which makes me happier and happier. :) I've been working extra hard to get ahead in my work this week, and I haven't done many projects, but I thought I'd share some things I've been enjoying.
I made this mini bag this summer from a too-small skirt I picked up at a yard sale. I was inspired by this bag and figured I could try to make my own (you can see I was too lazy to change out the thread - white still matches, right?). The idea is that this will hold my wallet, gum, meds, etc. so that I can easily change purses without pouring all the contents out onto the bed and sifting through them for 5 minutes. While the idea is great, I'm not sure I've mastered its use yet since I end up just throwing things in anyway, and I still wind up sifting. But I love the idea, and I am convinced that if I keep at it, I will be more organized. :)
Diane gave me these amazing page flags for my birthday, and they really make me look forward to doing my reading and lesson planning. They're like sticky notes, and I can put different colors and patterns on different pages to highlight points I want to make in class. I absolutely love everyday items refashioned into beautiful designs. Thank you, Diane!
The trees are changing much earlier this year, which is awesome, but it also makes me a little afraid of what winter will be like. But I'll take the cooler weather and beautiful warm colors any time. These next photos are from our walk yesterday evening. I've been very much enjoying these times.
I am very hopeful that I'll get back to my projects soon. It always takes me a while to get into a new routine, and I feel like I am still adjusting, even after three weeks. But the fall always inspires me to make new things, so I'm planning some new coffee sleeve designs and will post them as soon as I finish.
