First Snow

We woke up to snow yesterday morning - from Superstorm Sandy/Frankenstorm. Thankfully we only had high mph wind gusts, but no trees fell on our power lines, and we are safe. The snow melted by the afternoon, and, as you can see, it looks as though we were blessed with more than anyone else in our neighborhood. :)

It is amazing to me that the weather changes so abruptly here. Not even a week ago, this was the view in our backyard - sunny and in the high 70s:
I am grateful for the seasons here, though. As much as I'm not ready to say goodbye to the sunshine and warmth, I've found that there is something immensely beautiful in letting go of one season to embrace another.
