Fall Wreath

It's back to feeling more like fall here, although the temperatures have still been cold, with highs in the low 40s. But no more snow, and I think for now I'm glad for that. I'm not quite ready for it yet.

A few weeks ago I made a fall wreath, but it took me a while to get some pictures of it. It's nothing fancy, but I think I prefer simple anyway. I had some dried wheat I got last year, and I bought a grapevine wreath and some darker reeds at our local craft store for about four dollars total. I also picked up some gold floral wire (also for about a dollar or two), but I didn't really end up needing it; I was able to simply weave the wheat and reeds into the vines.
To finish it off, I tied one of my favorite yard sale ribbons to the top.
In other random house updates, to my disappointment we agreed to only use our fireplace in emergencies since the ashes aggravate Rick's allergies. To make up for it somewhat, I moved our candles in, and it's almost as good. No incredible sound, but no smoke smell, either, so I'm happy with the compromise.
I have some dessert-making ahead of me on Sunday, so I will post on that next week. Until then, my weekend is full of much-needed grading, and hopefully lots of coffee. :)
